Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade from my old Ryzen 5 7600 processor, which also means changing my PSU and cooler soon. I'm stuck between the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and sticking with the 7800X3D. Is it worth spending the extra cash on the 9800X3D for future-proofing, especially since I'm hoping to move from 1080p to 1440p gaming in the next few months? My current GPU is a 4060 Ti (8GB), which isn't ideally suited for 1440p. Also, I'd love some advice on what PSU I should get. Can a PSU be too powerful? Thanks for your insights!

Honestly, if you're focused on gaming, I'd go for the 9800X3D without hesitation. It'll keep you from worrying about CPU bottlenecks. After getting mine, I realized I never had to think about whether my CPU was holding me back, which is a huge plus!
I wouldn't rush to upgrade from your 7600 just yet. It's pretty new and still capable of handling 1440p gaming—especially with the 4060 Ti. If you're set on upgrading, maybe focus on a GPU first since it’ll provide a more noticeable improvement. If performance isn’t satisfying after that, then look at CPUs.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’m planning to get a CPU first, but it’s good to know GPUs are a priority. I’m leaning towards a future upgrade with the new cards.
