Should I Keep My 3060 or Return It for Something Better?

I'm having trouble with my graphics card—the 3060 Ti is failing on me, and I accidentally ended up with a regular 3060 instead. I've noticed that the 3060 Ti is hard to find these days, so I'm wondering if I should just stick with the 3060 or return it for a better model. I mainly play games, like Baldur's Gate, and don't do any programming or 3D modeling. Would it be worth it to look for something closer to the performance of the 3060 Ti? Thanks for any advice!

Definitely return it if you can! You might want to consider the 16GB 5060 Ti, which would give you a nice bump in performance for your games. Now's a good time to upgrade with graphics cards being cheaper.

Awesome! I'll check out the 5060 Ti, thanks!

While the 3060 isn't the best value anymore, if your model has 12GB of VRAM, it can still do fairly well in games like Baldur's Gate 3. Just make sure whatever you choose has at least 12GB of RAM, ideally 16GB for better performance.

I’ll definitely keep that in mind—thanks!

I'd say if you can return the 3060, go for it and grab something newer! The 3060 isn't terrible, but there are definitely better options available now that support more demanding games.

Noted! Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate it!

Why not choose from the current generation instead of getting an older model? The 3060 Ti has been replaced by the 4060 and then the 5060 Ti. It makes sense to invest in something that's being actively supported.

Good point! I'm just trying to be budget-conscious right now since funding is a bit tight. Thanks for the perspective!

The 3060 Ti is a noticeable upgrade over the 3060, especially being longer in the market now. If you have the chance, I'd suggest looking into a 5060 Ti or 5070—prices are lower than ever and they outperform the 3060 in most scenarios. It could be a smart move since the 3060 is starting to feel outdated.
