I've already bought my setup, which includes an Intel Core Ultra 5 245K CPU, a Powercolor Red Devil RX 9070 XT GPU, an MSI B860M Gaming Plus WiFi motherboard, a ThermalRight Peerless Assassin cooler, a Lian Li Edge 850 PSU, and T CREATE expert DDR5 RAM at 2x16GB 6000Hz CL30, all in a Jonsbo D31 mesh case. Now I've come across the Intel Ultra 7 265K at the same price as the 5 245K I already purchased. Refunding the 5 would be a hassle since the shop is far away and it could get pricey. Is it worth the trouble to switch to the 7?

The Ultra 7 265K might give you some extra performance if you’re going high-end with games or heavy tasks, but if you’re just going for casual play, the Ultra 5 should suffice. Plus, considering the longevity of the Intel socket, you might want to think about shifting to an AM5 setup for better future-proofing.
Honestly, if the refunds are a hassle, I wouldn't bother. If you're just gaming at standard settings, both CPUs will perform relatively similarly on your B860 chipset. Unless you plan to upgrade to faster memory and push the limits, hardware-wise, stick with what you got!
First off, what are you mainly using this rig for? If it’s just gaming, you might not see a huge difference. The Ultra 5 should handle gaming just fine. Just make sure you have decent cooling and power supply for those intense gaming sessions. Also, if returning the 5 is going to cost you a lot with the headaches involved, I’d say it’s probably not worth it.
