Should I prioritize a high-end CPU or GPU for my gaming PC?

I'm gearing up to build my first gaming PC after selling my Xbox, TV, and PS5. My current plan is to go for the Ryzen 7800X3D CPU paired with the Radeon 9060 XT GPU (16GB), thinking I'll invest heavily in the CPU now and upgrade the GPU later. However, I'm wondering if it might be smarter to buy a cheaper Ryzen 9600X and pair it with a better GPU instead. My goal is to at least reach 30 FPS at 1440p. What do you think?

Honestly, just stick with the setup you’re considering. You’ll probably score much higher than 30 FPS in practically any game, but aiming for such a low baseline seems a bit off. Just a heads up!

I get where you're coming from, but I'm used to Xbox performance. I just want to make sure I can hit that 30 FPS minimum without issues.

You should be totally fine with the setup you have in mind. Good luck with the build!

It really depends on what graphics card you can get if you decide to go with the cheaper CPU. If you can snag a Radeon RX 9070 or 9070 XT, that could be a great way to go!
