I've been working as an admin and engineer for the past two decades, but after losing my job last year, I've been struggling to find work. The only position I've managed to land is as a field tech, which seems to have minimal requirements – mostly just the basics like reading English and knowing how to use a screwdriver. The pay is terrible, there are no benefits, and I have to provide my own laptop. I'm really anxious about how this job will affect my resume. Should I include it or just leave my resume blank for the time being?

It's a good idea to use this time to pick up some new certifications! That way, you can highlight your skills and qualifications rather than focusing on this less-than-ideal job.
Honestly, it’s totally up to you how you want to present your work history. A lot of folks go with something like "Freelance Consulting" on their resumes to cover the gap. After applying, you might want to ask companies for feedback if you get rejected. Worst case, they ignore you; best case, you get some insight!
Haha, I get what you mean! I’ve seen resumes with similar wording too, and often, it doesn’t turn me off if the rest of the application looks solid!
