I'm planning a 5-hour drive with my PC, which is housed in a Hyte Y70 case with a vertically mounted Phantom 7900 XTX GPU. I'm wondering if I need to remove the GPU for the trip, or if it should be fine as is. What do you think?

If your PC is secured in your car and the roads are decent, it might be fine. But why take chances? Just remove the GPU and put it in a bag to cover the slot — accidents can happen, you know!
If you've still got the original box for your GPU, I'd recommend putting it in there for the journey. PCIe slots can be pretty fragile, and it's better to play it safe.
I agree! Given how pricey GPUs are, why risk it? Just pack it separately, and you won’t have to worry about any potential damage during the drive.
When I moved to a different city, I also had a 5-hour drive ahead. I figured it would be fine but decided to remove my GPU just in case. Turned out to be a good call since I hit a bumpy road and my car was bouncing all over. Better safe than sorry, right?
Honestly, it takes longer to scroll through Reddit than to just pop it out. Removing it gives you peace of mind, and reinstalling it after will only take a few minutes!
Exactly! Just one pothole could ruin your card or other components. It's worth the extra minute to keep everything safe.
