Should I replace my 10-year-old PSU for peace of mind?

I've been using an EVGA Supernova G2 850W power supply since 2015, and it's still running great. However, its 10-year warranty just expired, and I'm wondering if I should get a new one for the warranty coverage or if it's fine to keep using it until it fails. I have a 5080 graphics card that was quite an investment, so I'd like to avoid any risks of damage if the PSU goes. How urgent is it to replace it?

Honestly, if your PSU is still working well, just keep using it. You'll end up buying a new one eventually if it fails, so why worry?

It's cool to keep using it as long as it meets your needs. Without a warranty, you'll be responsible for repairs if it fails, but there's no real reason to replace it prematurely just for warranty coverage.

I think the age of the PSU isn't as critical as whether it can handle your current setup. If it's working, it's probably fine for now. You can always consider swapping it out later if performance dips or if you're worried about your GPU.

Yeah, if it's still doing its job, don't stress too much over the warranty. Just keep an eye on it!

Exactly! As long as it functions smoothly, keep it until you have a good reason to change.
