I'm in a bit of a bind with my PC setup and could really use some advice. Currently, I have an NVIDIA RTX 4070 GPU, an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, 32 GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR5-7200 RAM, two 1 TB Silicon Power SSDs, Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, and a Montech Century II 850W PSU. I initially had an MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard, but I encountered some errors, and my computer couldn't turn on at all, so I returned it. Should I try getting the same motherboard again and hope the first one was just a fluke, or is there a better option out there for gaming? I've also included a link to the error I received.

You've mentioned that your PC didn't turn on at all—could you clarify the specific errors you had? Sometimes, people overlook that the new DDR5 RAM needs some time to train on the first boot. Also, going with such high-speed RAM with a Ryzen 7 X3D might cause it to default to a lower speed due to compatibility, which can impact performance.
It really depends on what errors you were experiencing. If you provide more details, it might help narrow down whether you need a new motherboard or if it was just a defective unit. Also, did you have the chance to check if everything was properly seated? Errors can often arise from loose connections too.
If you’re mostly gaming, you might want to look into getting a B850 motherboard instead of another X870. The X870 is higher-end than you need and could save you some cash. It’s all about balancing performance and cost.
Honestly, the X870 is a solid board. I hope the replacement works out for you! Just make sure everything is connected well and updated if you experience the same issues.

I didn’t realize the RAM training thing was a requirement. Plus, it's news to me that high-speed RAM could be an issue with that CPU. Do you think I need to adjust anything before the replacement arrives?
