Should I replace my motherboard for USB and SSD issues?

I've had an Asus Tuf Gaming B650-plus WIFI motherboard for about two months now, and I've been running into some frustrating problems. My USB-C connections keep disconnecting randomly, and I seem to be limited by the low number of USB 3 ports on the board. On top of that, my SSD isn't being recognized in the boot menu; it only boots when an HDD is connected, even though the SSD has the OS installed. I'm considering upgrading to an Asus Tuf Gaming B850-plus WIFI board because it has more USB 3 ports and should support the Ryzen 9000 series without needing a BIOS update. Do you think this change would solve my SSD and USB issues?

Regarding the boot problems, did you have Windows previously installed on that HDD? The system might be defaulting to the HDD because it has the EFI partition needed to boot. It’s usually best to connect only the drive where you want Windows installed and wipe the others to avoid conflicts when setting it up.

Yes, it was on a previous motherboard, but I wiped the drive before installing Windows on the SSD for this setup.

Have you checked if there's a BIOS update for your current motherboard? Sometimes updating it can fix these kinds of issues. Also, consider double-checking your connections to make sure everything is seated properly.

Yes, I already updated to the latest BIOS version.
