Hey everyone, I have been slowly upgrading my PC over the last decade and the power supply is the last original component I have left, aside from the hard drive. It's a 600w gold-rated PSU, but I'm not sure if it's modular. I'm planning to get a new PSU along with a 9070xt to support the increased power needs. My question is whether I can just use the existing power cables with the new PSU, or should I be replacing them for safety and compatibility reasons?

Given that your PSU is over ten years old, it's very likely its pin configuration won't match with a modern one. Just change them out!
You'll want to swap out those old cables. Modular cables aren't standardized, so the pinouts may not match up with the new power supply.
Yeah, definitely replace them! Different PSUs, even those from the same brand, can have varying cable designs. Mixing cables can lead to serious issues if they're not compatible.
It's best to always use the cables that come with your new PSU. They are designed specifically for that unit to ensure safety and compatibility.
If you stick with the old cables, you might end up frying your components. It's a risky move and not worth the potential damage.
