I have three PCs, each with 64 GB of DDR4 RAM. I'm planning to upgrade my main setup but will keep my existing GPU. Since DDR4 prices are increasing, how likely am I to sell some of my RAM on eBay to help with the cost of migrating to DDR5?

I sold my 32 GB DDR4 3200 MHz kit for $140 just the day after I listed it locally. There's definitely a market for it!
I've shifted to DDR5 and am taking my time to sell my DDR4 as the prices are just starting to climb. It’s worth waiting a bit if you can!
Just remember, selling something doesn't mean you can offset costs if you're just going to buy more expensive components. It’s a bit like selling a house; you might get a good price but you'll end up needing another place that's also pricey.
Definitely consider selling! If your DDR4 is decent quality, like 3000 MHz or higher, you could make a good profit. I've seen people in Canada selling 16 GB sticks for around $45 at the low end, and some even asking for $120. On average, expect about $50. Also, 32 GB kits are where the real money's at; those usually go for about $150 CAD.
It’s a solid plan, but keep in mind that DDR4 might still be in demand down the line. You don’t want to regret selling if prices go up again. Just think about your personal spending habits too—do you like saving for a rainy day or spending freely?
You could also think about selling the entire systems instead of just the RAM. Might be easier that way!
