I recently had to take out my GPU and when I reinserted it, I accidentally broke the PCIe lock because I didn't know I needed to disengage it first. Now it's stuck in there pretty tight and I tried turning my PC on, which is working fine. However, I'm worried that the GPU might dislodge later on and cause problems. Should I be concerned about this issue in the long run?

Honestly, it’s hard to say if this will cause any issues down the line. I’ve had a broken PCIe lock for years on my rig and haven’t faced any problems with it. As long as your GPU is firmly secured in the case, it should stay in place without moving around.
I’m a bit confused on how that happened too. Did you manage to get the GPU in with the lock still engaged? But don’t stress too much; I’ve run a PC with a broken PCIe lock without any problems for a long time. Just make sure it's securely bolted to the case and it should be fine.

Yeah, this was my first experience putting in a GPU. I think I just pushed it in too hard without realizing the lock was on. I noticed something was off when it wouldn't wiggle at one end during reinstallation.
