Should I Send a Demo Video After My Azure Support Interview?

I recently had an interview for a Tier 1 Azure Cloud Support position, and while I felt it went well, the interviewer raised a concern about my lack of hands-on experience in a production Azure environment. I have a solid background in troubleshooting with over nine years at various managed service providers, and I have obtained the AZ-900 and AZ-104 certifications. To prepare, I created my own Azure lab and have been working on simulating and solving common Tier 1 issues like network security group misconfigurations and RDP failures. I'm thinking about sending a brief video demonstrating these troubleshooting scenarios along with a thank-you email. I want to know if this is a good strategy or if it might come off as overkill. Additionally, I would appreciate thoughts on what scenarios would show readiness for such a role and tips on making a good impression with my extensive IT background, despite limited Azure experience.

Being eager isn't a problem at all! Motivation counts for a lot, even more than specific technology experience. If I were hiring, I'd appreciate that you took the time to learn and practice.

I'd say go for it! Sending the video is a smart move. It'll show your enthusiasm and effort. If you're looking for scenario suggestions, consider focusing on common problems like connectivity issues or deployment failures.

If you have a demo video, definitely send it! As someone who interviews candidates for these roles, seeing that you got two certifications and put in the effort to set up a lab shows initiative. I probably wouldn't even need to watch the video; I would consider hiring you based on that follow-up alone.

Just highlight that you're a fast learner. I was in your shoes once, jumping into an Azure environment without certs. I learned quickly through hands-on experience and resources online like Microsoft Learn. You'd be amazed at how quickly you can adapt!
