I'm putting together a new PC build and I'm mostly settled on my components, but I'm stuck on which motherboard to choose because of the onboard LAN options. I'm looking at the ASUS ROG STRIX B850-F, which comes with an Intel i226-V LAN. However, I've heard numerous complaints regarding the stability of this LAN connection. I have a 1G fiber internet setup at home and my needs are pretty standard, but should I rethink my choice in favor of a motherboard with a Realtek LAN instead?

I remember hearing that the issues with the i226-V were supposed to be fixed in later revisions, but it seems like people are still feeling the heat from it. From what I've read, the more recent versions are definitely better than the older ones, but they still might not be perfect.
Honestly, I'd avoid motherboards with the i225/i226 series altogether. They're known for their reliability issues. If you have the choice, go for one with a different brand of LAN to save yourself future headaches.

Yeah, it seems like Intel has been on a roll with revisions but customers are still reporting problems. The first versions were a disaster, but at least the current ones are a bit less troublesome.
