Hey everyone! I've got a Ryzen 5 5600G and an RX 6600 right now, and I'm considering jumping to the AM5 platform. However, with all the craziness around RAM prices, I'm not sure if it's worth it at this moment. The cheapest RAM I can find is €202, and it won't even arrive until mid-January, which is super frustrating. Instead of completely rebuilding, should I just upgrade my AM4 setup to get the best performance at higher 1080p settings?

Your current setup is decent for 1080p for at least another couple of years, assuming you're not super picky about ultra settings. The CPU and GPU are well matched, so I'd suggest keeping what you have for now and upgrade when you really feel the need.
I think you should stick with AM4 for now. Upgrading to a 5700X3D could really boost your performance without tearing your budget apart.
If you want to crank up your graphics settings, you might need a better GPU too. But I get it, RAM prices are a total hassle right now!
Yeah, it's really messing with my upgrade plans too!
You could probably find a used 5700X3D for a reasonable price, which would be a solid upgrade from your current CPU. You can save the rest for a GPU upgrade later on.
Isn't that like the best you can get for AM4? What should I be looking to pay for one?
I’m concerned about that too. Coming from a 5600X, is it really worth the €300 price tag?

I totally get that! AAA titles do raise some concerns!
