I'm currently using a 5700X3D CPU paired with a 9070 XT GPU. I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to an AM5 CPU, or if I can hold off for a while without losing out on performance.

The 5700X3D is pretty solid for gaming and it performs similarly to the 7600X. Unless you're considering a high-end upgrade like the 7800X3D or the 9800X3D, which can be quite expensive, you probably won't notice a huge difference right now.
No need to rush into an upgrade. You'd have to invest a significant amount, likely between $1500 to $2000, just to see some noticeable improvements with a new CPU. You're good with the 5700X3D for the time being.
I've been running a basic setup for a long time and haven't felt the need to upgrade yet. As long as your current setup works for you, I'd hold off on spending money for now.
It really depends on the games you play and what settings you use. If you're gaming at 1440p with ultra settings, your GPU might be the main bottleneck rather than the CPU.
I don't think you need to upgrade if you're satisfied with your setup. I have a 9070 XT too, and I'm still mostly GPU-bound at 3440x1440p resolution, which indicates your CPU isn't the bottleneck.
