Should I Stick with My RTX 5060 or Upgrade to the RX 9060 XT 16GB?

I recently purchased an RTX 5060, and so far, I'm pretty happy with it. However, after watching various reviews comparing it with other graphics cards that have similar specs, I've come across comments warning against it due to its limited 8GB VRAM. I'm now considering whether I should sell the RTX 5060 and buy an RX 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM instead. Do you think the 5060 will be sufficient for at least the next five years, or should I make the switch?

Definitely sell it! I think the 5060 is on the weaker side. Even at 1080p, the 8GB can be a bottleneck as games evolve. An upgrade could be well worth it in the long run!

Go for the 9060 XT if you can! The extra VRAM is super helpful, especially for gaming at 1440p. As for longevity, I think it should last at least five years without needing a major upgrade, especially given current game requirements.

What resolution are you gaming at? If it's 1080p, the 8GB might still be plenty for now. But if you're aiming higher, you might find yourself wishing for that 16GB sooner rather than later. It really comes down to your gaming setup.

If you're looking at both options, I'd definitely lean towards the RX 9060 XT 16GB. DLSS 4 is cool, but the 9060 XT will handle 99% of games out there, plus that extra VRAM is a game-changer. That said, since you've already bought the 5060, think about whether you really want to deal with selling and all that hassle. If you’re happy with it right now, maybe sticking with it for a bit longer is a good idea!

Honestly, the 5060 isn't bad for the price, and 8GB is still fine for 1080p gaming. We can't predict exactly how things will evolve, but I suspect that 8GB may hold out longer than we think due to VRAM shortages. Sure, the 16GB version is better for future-proofing, but weigh if that upgrade cost is worth it for you.
