I'm building a new PC and I'm leaning towards the i7-14700KF, but I've been hearing a lot of recommendations to switch to AMD. I currently have an RTX 5060 TI and 16GB of RAM, and I'm considering doing some rendering and modeling in the future. My gaming isn't super graphic-intensive, and I don't plan to upgrade for at least the next 3-4 years. Just looking for advice on whether my choice of CPU will hold up, or if I should go AMD instead.

Consider going for an AMD CPU like the 265K if you're keen on squeezing out great performance for productivity. It may need a board and RAM upgrade, though. If that sounds too pricey, the 9700X is another option that’s more affordable and still decent! Just keep in mind that RAM prices can be high now, and it's worth factoring that into your decision.
The i7-14700KF is a solid pick for both productivity and gaming! Since rendering and modeling are more GPU-focused, your existing GPU will complement it well. If you already have the motherboard and RAM that fit the i7, I'd say stick with it. Use budget for a future GPU upgrade instead to boost your productivity and gaming performance even more.

How does the 9700X actually stack up against the i7-14700KF?
