My dream has always been to land an internship in AI/ML, and I've been learning Data Science using Python. However, a senior engineer recently gave me some tough advice that got me thinking twice. They mentioned that it's really hard for beginners to break into AI/ML unless you have an advanced degree, and that the job market is quite limited for entry-level roles in this field. Instead, they suggested I consider moving into DevOps to gain some practical experience quickly. Things like AWS, Docker, and Jenkins sound appealing, especially since I struggle with math—which might make AI more challenging for me. Plus, they claim the job market for DevOps is stronger right now. So, my question is: Am I right to put my AI dreams on hold to pursue a more practical path in DevOps?
