Hey everyone! I have a pretty old gaming PC that originally served me well, but it's starting to struggle with the demands of video editing. Right now, I'm using a Ryzen 5600X with an RX5700 GPU, but I've noticed that when editing 4K 60fps footage in Premiere Pro, the playback is stuttery and performance isn't what I hoped for. My current setup has been fine for most tasks, including gaming on an Alienware AW3423DWF monitor, but editing is becoming a real pain, especially with effects that just don't seem to work properly. Considering some upgrades, I'm wondering if switching to an Intel CPU with integrated graphics would improve my editing experience. I've heard that Intel's Quick Sync Video might make a difference. What do you think? Would I be better off sticking with AMD or making the switch to Intel?

You might want to consider using NVENC instead of Quick Sync. Some folks have managed to get great performance with a combination of Intel and Nvidia, so it’s not impossible. But yeah, going full Intel might just give you the boost you need for Premiere.
If you’re heavily focused on video editing, Intel’s Quick Sync is a reliable option. The Ryzen 5600X is decent, but an upgrade to a newer Intel chip like the 13600K or 14600K could really enhance your experience. Those CPUs excel in multi-core performance and would likely handle things much better than what you have now.
But is that really better than going for something like a Ryzen 5800X paired with an RTX 4070 Ti? How does a little iGPU manage playback better?

That’s definitely part of my confusion! It seems like Intel and Nvidia can work well together, but I’m tied up in AMD land right now.
