Should I Take a Support Engineer Job Offer That Pays 3x My Current Salary?

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I've been working as an SRE/DevOps engineer for about five years now, and I've received a job offer for a support engineer position that deals with Kubernetes, CI/CD, and similar technologies. The catch is, it's offering me three times my current salary! Should I make the leap, or are there factors I should consider before making a decision?

Three times the salary is definitely enticing! Just remember to look at the company's revenue and overall stability. You wouldn't want to end up in a role with little opportunity for growth, so consider how this position may shape your future career path.

That’s a solid point! I did check them out, and they lead a well-known open source project for Kubernetes. I even talked with the CTO and found out there’s room for internal promotions. I might just lean towards this offer after all.

It's great to see a salary increase, but make sure to ask about any potential downsides. Is there a catch with the role or the company? Maybe dig deeper into the stability of the firm before jumping in.

Honestly, if the pay is three times what you're making now, it’s hard to say no to that! We’re in this industry as hired guns, so if the opportunity is there, go for it!
