Should I Transition to Linux for Gaming and School?

I just got a new PC and I'm really considering switching from Windows to Linux as my operating system. I've only ever used Windows, but I'm curious to try Linux out, particularly distributions like Mint, Ubuntu, or Parrot, something that's friendly for beginners and good for gaming. Most of my time will be spent gaming and doing university work, so I'm wondering about the ease of use when it comes to school projects. I'm concerned that some university projects might not be straightforward on Linux. Any advice or thoughts would really help me out!

A great way to start is to test Linux Mint using a Live USB. You won't need to install it right away; just download the ISO file, burn it to a USB drive, and boot from that. This way, you can explore Linux without affecting your Windows system. If you think you might get adventurous later, you could also try other distributions! If you’re comfortable with virtual machines, that’s another option to try out different distros safely.

There’s also a site called Distrosea where you can check out how different distros work, but I personally think it’s better to run them directly on your hardware for the best experience!
