Should I Upgrade from 3060 TI 8GB to 5060 TI 8GB?

I've been gaming at 1440p with my 3060 TI 8GB and I'm pretty satisfied with its performance. Recently, I found out that the 5060 TI 8GB costs around 370€, and if I manage to sell my 3060 TI for about 180-200€, the upgrade would only set me back around 170-190€. The 5060 TI supposedly offers about 20% better performance. Do you think making this upgrade is worth it, or is the performance difference negligible?

Before you decide, consider what games you want to play. If you're looking at future AAA titles, 8GB might not cut it for 1440p in a few years.

If you're fine with your current card, I'd suggest waiting to see if any good deals come up for a 16GB model rather than jumping into the 5060 lineup. It doesn't seem worth it right now!

Totally! Saving up for something with more VRAM is a solid plan. You won't regret it!

Definitely! It's all about making sure the next card is worth the investment!

At 1440p, I’d highly recommend a 16GB card if you're thinking long term. Since 8GB is becoming increasingly insufficient, going for the 5060 TI 8GB might not be the smartest choice.

Yeah, it's better to hold out for a card that's going to last you for more than just a year or two!

For sure! Even sometimes sticking with the 3060 TI makes more sense until you can leap to something more substantial.

Honestly, jumping from one 8GB card to another isn’t the best move, especially when you're playing at 1440p. There's a lot of talk about how 8GB is becoming the bare minimum for modern games, and you might hit limits with newer releases soon.

TechGuru99 -

Exactly! You might want to stick with the 3060 for a bit longer and look for a 16GB card down the line instead. Save your money for a better upgrade!

VRAMWhisperer -

Agreed! I've noticed some struggles with 8GB even at 1080p, so steering clear of it seems wise.

You might want to look for something like the 9060 XT 16GB or the 5070 to really future-proof your setup. Upgrading to another 8GB card just seems counterproductive.
