I'm considering upgrading from my current 3060, and I'm torn between the 12GB and 8GB VRAM options. I'm not sure if switching to 8GB would negatively impact performance compared to my 12GB now. I'm interested in any insights or experiences to help me decide before making a purchase. Thanks in advance!

I recommend getting the 9060 XT with 16GB. It’s priced about the same as the 5060 Ti with 8GB, and you'll get better performance. The 3060 doesn’t compare, so if those are your main options, the 5060 Ti is better, but really, the 9060 XT is the way to go.

Definitely go for the 16GB version. The 9060 XT is a great choice if you're looking for something budget-friendly. There's really no compelling reason to downgrade your VRAM; it’ll hinder your performance in the long run. If you can find a used 3080 Ti or a RX 6800 XT, those are also great alternatives!

Honestly, you should skip the 8GB model altogether. If you can, opt for the 16GB version of the 5060 Ti or check out the RX 9060 XT, which also has 16GB and is a solid performer. These days, 8GB cards just don't cut it anymore. Plus, if you're on PCIe 3.0, the 8GB won't perform well at all.
