Should I Upgrade from My RTX 3070 to a 5070?

I've just gotten myself an RX 9070, but I'm disappointed with the frame rates in CS2. I'm considering upgrading to an RTX 5070 for better performance. I've seen the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5070 EAGLE OC on sale for 530€. Is that a decent price? Also, I'm wondering how the 12GB of VRAM will hold up in the next few years, especially for gaming.

I have the 5070, and it runs everything I need on high/ultra at 1440p, and even medium/high at 4K. However, it's true that the RX 9070 might outshine it in some games. As for the 12GB of VRAM, it's generally enough for 1080p and 1440p, but it can be tricky at 4K.

From what I've seen, both the RX 9070 and RTX 5070 perform similarly, with over 300 FPS at 1440p on high settings. Upgrading from the 9070 to the 5070 would likely just be a sidegrade, so it may not be worth the cost.

You might actually be CPU limited in CS2, so simply swapping graphics cards might not solve your issues. Check your GPU usage; if it’s below 100%, your CPU could be the bottleneck. What CPU are you currently using?

The RX 9070 is generally a stronger card than the RTX 5070, so switching could be a downgrade. What kind of frame rates are you currently getting with your setup?

If the FPS are bad with your 9070, something isn’t quite right. What resolution are you playing at, and what’s your target frame rate? A 5070 likely won't show much performance improvement over the 9070.
