Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out if I should upgrade my current PC setup from 2019. Here's what I have:
- Ryzen 3600
- B450 Tomahawk motherboard
- G.Skill Trident 16GB DDR4 3200 RAM
- NZXT H510 case
- ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240 cooler
- 512GB M.2 SSD by Silicon Power
- Radeon 6700 XT GPU (bought 2 years ago)
- Corsair RM570e PSU (also bought 2 years ago)
I mainly use my PC for light MMORPG gaming (currently Guild Wars 2) and programming since I develop with Flutter/Android.
Here are my main concerns:
1. **M.2 SSD**: Is Silicon Power a trustworthy brand? I'm worried about data loss and considering upgrading to Western Digital, Samsung, or SK Hynix.
2. **CPU and RAM**: Should I upgrade from the Ryzen 3600? I don't have major issues right now, but should I go for a 5700X, or jump to AM5 with a Ryzen 7700, B650 motherboard, and 32GB of 6000 RAM for 400 euros? The 5700X3D is over 250 euros, so is that worth it?
3. **Case**: A friend told me my case is trash. Should I look into getting a new one?
What do you all think? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Silicon Power is a budget brand, but generally reliable. If you’re worried about data, consider having a backup. As for your case, if it’s the solid panel version, airflow might be an issue. But if you're not facing thermal problems, it might not be urgent to change. Just keep an eye on it!
I’d recommend upgrading to the 5700X3D to give your system a nice boost without replacing all your components. It would significantly enhance your performance in GW2 and handle future games better. And if you're planning a full upgrade, consider waiting for Zen 6 on AM5 in about a year. It sounds promising!
Definitely agree! Plus, if you're not gaming heavily right now, the 5700X should suffice for a while.
If budget allows, definitely consider going for AM5. It will keep your system more future-proof since AM4 is being phased out. But the 5700X is also a solid choice if you’re on a budget.
Thanks for that! So maybe I should just stick with the H510 for now and prioritize the SSD?
