Should I Upgrade My CPU from Ryzen 5 3600?

I've recently added an RTX 4060 to my setup along with 32 GB of RAM, which seems solid, right? Currently, I'm using a Ryzen 5 3600 that came with the PC I bought. I'm considering an upgrade because I'm worried that my CPU might be bottlenecking my GPU performance. I've got my eye on the Ryzen 7 5700X3D since it's known for its gaming capabilities and it's compatible with my AM4 motherboard. Should I stick with that choice or consider something else?

The Ryzen 7 5700X3D is a fantastic upgrade! It’ll definitely help, especially if you’re gaming at 1080p. Just remember, the RTX 4060 is a good fit for a lower-end PC, but if you consider upgrading it later on, try to aim for a GPU with at least 12GB of VRAM. For now, keeping your 4060 is a smart move since GPUs are overpriced right now.

If you can snag a 5800X3D, that would be ideal, but keep in mind the prices are rising and AMD isn't making them anymore. If you see one at a decent price, jump on it!

If you find the 5700X3D at a good price, like from AliExpress, it could be an awesome upgrade for you. Just make sure it's inexpensive enough to justify the investment.

Upgrading to a 5700X3D will be a huge improvement if you're definitely experiencing a bottleneck in your games. However, if your GPU usage is consistently high, then the GPU might actually be what's holding you back right now.

Have you considered checking your GPU usage while gaming? It’s a good way to see if you're actually bottlenecking. Monitoring can really help you make the right decision for your upgrade.
