I'm currently using an i5 9400f CPU paired with a 1660 Ti GPU, and I'm trying to figure out which component to upgrade first. Should I focus on upgrading my CPU or my GPU?

Most people recommend upgrading the GPU first in situations like yours. Upgrading the GPU gives you better performance in games without having to replace your whole system right away. CPUs have limited upgrade paths; you'd likely need a new motherboard and RAM as well for most upgrades. So, stick with your current setup and just get a new GPU for now!

It's a tough call, but if you aren't planning a full rebuild, go for the GPU. This way, when you do upgrade the CPU, RAM, and motherboard later, you can still use the same graphics card. You won’t have to pick a platform just yet, either!

Exactly! Waiting on that platform decision can save you a lot of hassle down the line.
