Hey everyone! I built my PC back in 2020, and it's starting to struggle a bit with gaming. I'm not sure if I should upgrade my CPU or GPU first since both seem to be bottlenecking my performance in different games. My budget isn't super tight, but I don't want to go over $1,000 on a GPU. Here are my current specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 2060
- Motherboard: B450 Tomahawk Max
- RAM: 16GB
I mainly play MOBAs, and I'm getting around 60fps at low settings in games like League and Deadlock, but my frame rates drop significantly when a lot of abilities are used. During these games, my GPU usage is at about 90%. On the other hand, in a game like BF6, I get 60fps or lower on the lowest settings, with my CPU hitting near 100% usage while the GPU barely registers at 1-2%. This has me puzzled and questioning whether I should be prioritizing a CPU upgrade. Should I consider upgrading everything, like going to 32GB of RAM and a new CPU/GPU? Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks!

I'd recommend upgrading your GPU first. A Radeon 9060XT 16GB could really enhance your gaming experience, and then you can look at getting a better CPU like the 5600X or 5800XT later. Just make sure to update your BIOS before switching CPUs!

Got it! I'm also leaning towards the 9060XT, but I noticed the 5060Ti is similarly priced—around $500-$600 too. What do you think?
