I've recently upgraded from a 2060 Super to a 7600XT GPU, thinking it would solve my FPS issues in games. However, I've only noticed a slight improvement in gameplay FPS, though the gains are significant when navigating menus and outside of games. I'm starting to wonder if my CPU might be the real bottleneck here. Given my Ryzen 9 3900XT CPU, should I consider upgrading it instead, or is there something else at play?

If you stick with your current setup, a CPU upgrade might be more beneficial than sticking with the 7600XT. But if you can only afford one upgrade right now, it sounds like your CPU is what’s holding you back. The 7600XT isn’t giving you the performance jump you hoped for on its own, so look into upgrading that CPU first if you can.
It sounds like you might be hitting a CPU bottleneck, especially with the 7600XT only being about 26% faster than the 2060 Super. If you're seeing your GPU sitting at around 85% utilization, your CPU might not be keeping up in more demanding games. Maybe consider monitoring your CPU and GPU usage with an overlay during play. That'll give you a clearer picture of what's going on.
Yeah, definitely troubleshoot your usage first. It could reveal if your CPU is the issue. If it is, a CPU upgrade could help boost your frames significantly.
Interesting! If I return the 7600XT and focus on the CPU first, will I still be able to play most titles decently with the 2060 Super until I can upgrade the GPU?
