Should I Upgrade My CPU or GPU for Better Gaming Performance?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on my current gaming setup. Here are my specs:

- Intel 13400f
- 32GB DDR4 3200 RAM
- AMD RX 7800XT
- 650W PSU

I usually game at 1440p, mainly enjoying single-player AAA titles. I've got to admit, I'm feeling a bit let down by my performance lately. Even though the RX 7800XT is rated well for 1440p, I find myself relying on upscaling and frame generation just to reach playable frame rates on new releases, like Assassin's Creed with ray tracing.

I'm considering an upgrade to either my CPU and motherboard to an AM5 platform with a 7600, or switching out my GPU for a 5070/5060 Ti with 16GB for better ray tracing performance. Do you think a platform upgrade would enhance my gaming experience?

The 13400F really isn’t that far off from a 7600 performance-wise. I think what's likely holding you back is your GPU. You should be able to hit 100+ FPS, but at 1440p high-ultra settings with ray tracing on, that’s definitely a task for your 7800XT. If you're looking for a quick upgrade route, you might be better off focusing on a newer GPU rather than overhauling your whole setup.

Thanks for the detailed info! I'm leaning towards upgrading to an AM5 platform so I can swap in a more powerful CPU later, and I'll stick with my 7800XT until the next gen comes out.
