Should I Upgrade My CPU or GPU for Gaming?

I recently bought a CPU, the 9800x3d, for $500 and a GPU, the 5070, for $710. My old CPU is the Ryzen 5 7600x, which I'm considering returning. I'm torn between either keeping the 7600x and upgrading to a better GPU like the 7600x3d, or returning the 9800x3d and using that money to get a new GPU in the $850-$900 range. I'm gaming at 1080p and already sold my previous GPU. I had an ASROCK 9070xt, but it was artifacting, so I returned it. I'm wondering if there would be a significant bottleneck if I chose a GPU like the 9070xt or 5070ti with either the 7600x or 7600x3d.

The main factor here is your gaming resolution. If you're not hitting 200+ FPS in CPU-heavy games, I'd suggest putting your money into the best GPU you can find instead of upgrading your CPU.

Honestly, if you're mainly gaming at 1080p and not really pushing high frames in CPU-intensive games, just keep your 7600x. You should focus on getting a powerful GPU like the 5070ti or 9070xt. Just make sure your power supply can handle the upgrade!

Thanks for the advice! I think I’ll stick with the 7600x and look for a good GPU.
