Hey everyone! I'm feeling a bit stuck with my current computer setup and I could really use your input. Here's what I've got:
- **Case:** Tempest Spook White RGB USB 3.0 White
- **CPU:** Intel Core i5-9600K 3.7GHz
- **CPU Cooler:** NOX HUMMER H-312
- **GPU:** GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB GDDR6
- **Power Supply:** Nox Urano VX 650W 80+ Bronze
- **RAM:** Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB DDR4 2666MHz
- **Motherboard:** MSI B365M PRO-VDH
- **SSD:** Kingston A400 SSD 240GB
- **M.2 Storage:** Silicon Power PCIe M.2 NVMe SSD 512GB
The issue I'm having is during gaming, specifically with Black Ops 7 and other titles like League of Legends and Valorant. I'm getting around 90–100 FPS, but it's super inconsistent and filled with stuttering. I want to enhance my performance but I'm on a tight budget, so I have a couple of upgrade paths in mind:
1. Switch to an AMD AM4 setup with a Ryzen 5 and upgrade my RAM and motherboard.
2. Upgrade my current Intel i5-9600K to an i9-9900K.
What do you all think? I'm open to any advice! Thanks!

I wouldn't expect a huge performance boost from just switching CPUs. Realistically, you're looking at a 20-30% performance difference in a best-case scenario if you’re bottlenecked by the CPU. Make sure your Windows and games are installed on that M.2 SSD, not the smaller A400 SSD—you'll want faster load times!
To really optimize your performance, make sure to follow specific steps to tweak your settings. There’s a guide you can check out that covers a lot of useful tips to enhance performance, like ensuring no overheating issues and tuning your Nvidia settings. If you need to troubleshoot further, the guide has solid steps for that too. Definitely worth a look!
Going from an i5-9600K to an i9-9900K isn’t really worth it. You should look into upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600 instead. It’s a much better processor, offering about 65% more performance in multi-threaded tasks and around 24% faster in single-threaded applications. You could pair it with an ASUS B550 Gaming WiFi motherboard and get an additional 16GB of RAM for a decent price. All that should cost you between $360 and $400 if you buy new parts, or even less if you go used!
Thanks for the solid advice! I appreciate it!

Yes, they’re on the M.2 SSD, thankfully!
