I'm considering an upgrade from my current setup, which includes a 5600X CPU, a 4080S GPU, and 48GB of RAM. I'm stuck between going for an AM5 upgrade with 64GB of DDR5 RAM and a 9800X3D, or simply getting a 5700X3D. The 5600X is starting to bottleneck performance in many games, and I want to ensure I'm making a solid upgrade. I'm aware that switching to AM5 would also require a new power supply. However, I've heard that the 5700X3D isn't being produced anymore, which drives the price up for an older CPU. I'm also curious how long the upgrade would hold up before I'd need to move to AM5+. Any thoughts would be incredibly helpful! Thanks!

You might want to think about how you're using your system. If you're running memory-intensive applications or games like Escape from Tarkov that are RAM-heavy, then 64GB might make sense. If gaming is your primary focus, though, 32GB is still solid for performance and will likely be enough for a while.
Upgrading to 64GB of DDR5 RAM will definitely cost you—prepare for a hefty bill! But consider if you really need that much RAM for just gaming. Most games run very well on 32GB, and that could save you some cash right now.
Honestly, it depends on your budget. Prices for 32GB of DDR5 RAM are really high right now, which makes it a tricky time for upgrading. If you can manage it, moving to AM5 and a 9800X3D could be a better long-term investment, but make sure it aligns with your gaming style.

Thanks for the input! I do game a lot, but I also dabble in some AI work, so I’m just trying to figure out how to future-proof myself.
