I'm facing a bit of a dilemma. My custom-built desktop isn't compatible with Windows 11, which I will need for my 3D modeling and analytical software next year. Currently, I have the following specs:
- Motherboard: Asus B350 series
- CPU: Ryzen 1700X
- GPU: GTX 1070
- RAM: 32GB
- PSU: 750W
I don't really need the latest hardware, but I know I'll require a system with TPM for Windows 11. That probably means I'll need a new motherboard. I'm willing to spend about $500-$600 on upgrades, but I've seen new mid-tier systems going for about $1600. Would it be worth it to upgrade the CPU, GPU, motherboard, and maybe add more RAM, or should I just go ahead and buy a new system? My current setup works fine for my workload, but I could use more RAM and better performance, though my main concern is getting Windows 11 by January of next year.

If you're on a tight budget, you might be able to bypass the Windows 11 requirements. However, I’d recommend considering a complete upgrade since your PC is quite old by today's standards. You don’t need the latest and greatest; just aim for an AM5 motherboard and budget components. This option will give you better compatibility and performance overall.

I've heard about that workaround too! Just a heads up, there might be some challenges down the line when you need updates since you'll have to keep bypassing those requirements. Do you know if that method allows for regular updates?
