I bought a prebuilt gaming PC back in 2024 from a company called PC Specialist. It's fine for most games I play, but I'm looking to run titles like The Finals and Helldivers 2 at higher graphic settings while keeping a steady frame rate. Right now, I'm lucky to hit 60 FPS, but I'm aiming for 120 FPS. Here's my current setup:
- Ryzen 5700X
- ASUS Prime A520M-A
- 4 x Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4
- Radeon RX6600
If I should go for a new build instead of upgrading, I'd love to get some recommendations for parts. My budget is around £2000, and I currently have a Corsair CX550 PSU. Thanks!

Honestly, with 8GB of DDR4 and an A520 board paired with an RX 6600, I’d lean toward building a new PC. Upgrading those components might cost as much as starting fresh. Look for a Ryzen 5 9600X with an AM5 motherboard, and get some RAM included. Pair it with a RX 9060 XT 16GB and an 850W 80+ Gold PSU. You can reuse your case and fans; maybe even get a 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD if your budget allows, they'll really help with load times!
Upgrading your graphics card would be a solid move. The RX6600 is on the weaker side for modern gaming at higher settings. Depending on your budget, you might consider the RX 9070 XT for a significant performance boost, provided your PSU can handle it. If you want to be more budget-conscious, the RX 9060 XT 16GB could still provide a good upgrade. Just keep an eye on your power supply's capacity!

Oh nice, I actually just swapped two of my RAM sticks because Helldivers 2 was giving me trouble too. Prices have really been rough lately, I feel you!
