I'm a freshman majoring in Computer Science and I'm feeling a bit lost trying to pick a path. There are so many options—app development, DevOps, cybersecurity, full-stack development—but I just don't know where to start. I've heard people suggest going with what interests you, but I really need help figuring this out. What should I focus on to find my niche?

Try making a list of different CS areas and just dive into the first one that catches your eye. Work on a project and see how much you enjoy it. If you're not feeling it, move on to the next one. No need to specialize just yet; as a freshman, you have time! Just aim to have a direction by the end of your sophomore year to give yourself a chance to create some projects before applying for internships.
I've always been fascinated by technology and love the idea of creating things. The way the internet works has always intrigued me.
Based on the job market trends, I'd recommend looking into DevOps. It seems like a solid choice if job stability is a priority for you.
It really depends on your personal goals. What made you choose Computer Science in the first place?

Thanks, appreciate the advice!
