Should I Upgrade My GPU for 1080p Gaming?

I'm currently gaming with a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and an RTX 3070 at 1080p, mainly focusing on competitive FPS games. I'm considering whether it's worth upgrading my GPU, especially since I'm thinking about getting a 1440p monitor and moving to 1440p gaming later. My options are to buy a used RTX 4070 Super or a new RTX 5070, but there's about a $200 price difference between the two. Should I make the upgrade now or wait?

If you're still gaming at 1080p on competitive settings, check if you're fully utilizing your 3070. If not, it might not be worth upgrading just yet. But if you are and your monitor can't keep up with your framerate, it could be time to upgrade to the 4070 Super along with a new monitor.

I think the RTX 4070 Super is a solid choice! It's almost as powerful as the 5070, and you can save yourself $200. Why not pocket that cash?

Totally agree, that extra cash can go towards other upgrades!
