Hey everyone! My PC has been having some serious stability issues, crashing and showing bluescreen errors for years. Recently, it's been crashing whenever I try to play games like CS and BF6, and I keep getting a nvlddmkm error, which makes me think it's related to my GPU. I've tried underclocking, but now it's crashing again. My system is getting old, so I'm considering upgrading, but I want to know if I should focus on just upgrading the GPU or if there are other parts that also need replacing. Here's my current setup:
- PSU: Focus Plus 650W 80+ Gold
- Motherboard: MSI B450M Mortar
- CPU: Ryzen 7 2700
- GPU: Gigabyte 1080Ti 11Gb
- RAM: GSkill TridentZ 16Go DDR4 3200MHz
If possible, I'd like to limit my spending to around $400-$500 for the GPU. Do you think my PSU is still good enough for 2025? I primarily play CS and won't be gaming much after January 2026, so I don't need cutting-edge performance. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Have you thought about lowering your RAM speed or bumping up the voltage? That can help with stability, especially if you're experiencing crashes like you described. Sometimes it’s not just the GPU that needs attention!
I haven’t tried that yet! I assumed the GPU was the main issue since it always gives that nvlddmkm error. I’ll clean everything out and give it a shot. Thanks for the tip!
