I've been using this gaming PC my mom gave me about 7 years ago, which has an i5 7400 and a 1050ti. It's starting to show its age, and I'm planning to build a new PC soon, ideally switching to an AM5 setup. However, it's going to take me a while to save up for all the parts. I came across a second-hand i7 7700k for 80 euros and was wondering if it would give my current system a decent performance bump until I can afford my new build. If I do go for it, what things should I consider, like new software or a different cooler? I'd love to hear your thoughts and advice!

Honestly, I wouldn't bother with the i7 upgrade. I thought about switching from my i5 7600k to an i7 and in the end, the i5 performed better for gaming. Just save your cash and put it towards a new build instead!
Thanks for your input! I think saving is the way to go.
