I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade my monitor or my graphics card first. Right now, I'm not looking to build a whole new PC since RAM prices are high, but I want to make a choice between getting an OLED monitor (likely the XG27ACDNG since it's only $80 more than other 240hz OLEDs) or spending the same amount on a newer power supply that supports ATX 3.0/3.1 and a 5070 GPU. My main use is multiplayer games like Valorant and CS2, but I'd like to play more single-player games, which my current PC struggles with. I'm concerned about whether a GPU upgrade would be bottlenecked by my AM4 setup and CPU. Here's my current build:
- CPU: 5600x
- GPU: 4060
- Monitor: AOC 24g2
- Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
What do you think would be a better upgrade?

Upgrading to a 5070 is a significant leap from the 4060, plus you'll gain more VRAM which is a bonus. I’d go for that as your first step. After that, consider getting a 1440p OLED monitor. That combination would seriously enhance your gaming experience, delivering richer visuals and better performance.
Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend going for a 5070 with your AM4 setup. Your 4060 can still hold up, particularly with features like DLSS and frame generation. For single-player games, turn off DLSS and focus on using frame generation effectively. For multiplayer, stick with DLSS quality or balanced settings. You may find the 4060 adequate for now, especially if you’re mainly playing competitive games.
I'd say go for the GPU upgrade first if you're looking for better performance overall. Prices for GPUs may rise, so it makes sense to get one while you can. Plus, you can always pair it with a new monitor later!
If your current monitor isn't performing well, then I'd suggest upgrading it first. The 4060 is decent, but it might not blow you away if your monitor isn’t up to par. However, if your monitor has a good refresh rate and is functioning well, then investing in a new GPU and power supply would be the better option. You can still get decent performance from the 4060, especially in multiplayer games, so weigh the benefits of each upgrade carefully.
