Should I Upgrade My PC Components or Stick with What I Have?

I'm contemplating making some changes to my PC setup. Ideally, I'd like to replace my CPU, motherboard, and cooling. I've been eyeing the AMD 7800 X3D, but the skyrocketing prices of DDR5 RAM gave me a mini heart attack! Since I can't get any of the 5000 series X3D CPUs where I live, I'm wondering if I should consider alternatives on the AM4 platform. Do I switch to Intel, or should I try to find RAM on the second-hand market? I'm currently running an RTX 4070 with an i5 11400F and a 650W power supply, which I prefer to keep. Considering my current usage mainly revolves around gaming and VR, I don't plan to upgrade again for over five years. Any suggestions?

If you're selling your DDR4 RAM, you may recoup some costs for the AM5 upgrade. But honestly, I think you're looking at more than that to cover the jump to DDR5 pricing.

That’s not entirely accurate. I doubt selling the RAM will even come close to offsetting the DDR5 cost. Just my two cents!

Honestly, I would suggest just sticking with your current setup for now. I have a similar setup with an 11400 and a 3080, and it’s working great for me without any need to upgrade. Give it a couple of years before you worry about parts.
