I'm currently using an RTX 4070 with an i5-13400f and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. I mainly play competitive games at 1440p and 240Hz, and sometimes dive into AAA titles. Even with my current setup, I'm finding I need to adjust my settings for better frame rates. I'm considering upgrading to a 5080 GPU along with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which would require a new motherboard and RAM too. Would this upgrade be worth it, or should I go all out and get the top-tier GPU and CPU? I'm not interested in 4K gaming; I just want to increase my frame rates in games like CS2, Fortnite, and CoD without dropping my settings too much. Thanks!

Upgrading to the 9800X3D and 5080 is definitely a solid choice if you're chasing high performance. However, keep in mind that the only thing higher would be the 5090 and the 9950X3D, but that could feel excessive if you're not gaming at 4K. Especially since high-end components can feel like a lot of overkill for 1440p gaming.

True! I've seen some threads saying the 5080 has had mixed reviews; it's won’t be ideal unless you're really pushing for those higher resolutions.
