Hey folks! I'm currently using a second-hand PC setup that includes a Ryzen 7 5800, Radeon RX 6600 (8GB), 16GB RAM, a Gigabyte GA-B450M K-CF motherboard, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and Windows 11 Pro. It's been performing decently for most games, but I recently tried playing Battlefield 6, and it was a disaster. I'm not extremely tech-savvy, so I'm hoping to get some advice on whether I should upgrade a few components like the GPU and RAM or just cut my losses and buy a completely new build instead. I'm aiming for a smoother gameplay experience without breaking the bank, and I'm considering options like the RTX 3060 Ti or RTX 5060 Ti 16GB along with upgrading to 32GB RAM. What kind of PSU are you using? Also, considering how long you plan to play Battlefield 6, your current specs should still work okay at 1080p. I’d suggest upgrading the RAM to 32GB as a complete kit (not just two additional sticks) to avoid compatibility issues. If Battlefield 6 is your main focus, a used GPU like the 4070ti would outperform the 5060 Ti without breaking the bank.
XX60 series cards are on the lower end of NVIDIA’s lineup. I totally understand your frustration! Your system can still be upgraded if you decide to stick with AM4 and go for an NVIDIA card. If you want a more robust setup, consider an x3d chip with a decent GPU. That being said, I’d recommend getting a better GPU first and then checking how your 5800 handles it. If necessary, you can upgrade the CPU later on.
Have you tried enabling FSR? Your system exceeds the minimum specs for Battlefield 6. While it may not produce the best visuals, it could significantly improve your framerate and make the game more playable.
