Should I Upgrade My PC to Play Doom?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to dive into the new Doom game, but I just realized that my PC specs fall below the minimum requirements. Here's what I'm working with: Intel i7-9700k, ASUS Prime Z390-A motherboard, 32GB of RAM, and an RTX 3060 with 12GB of VRAM. I usually play at 1080p on a 165Hz monitor. Do you think I need to upgrade anything? If so, what would be the best approach? I'm all ears, thanks!

Running it on medium settings with some upscaling at 1080p should work fine. Honestly, your CPU is likely the bigger bottleneck compared to the GPU. Upgrading to a newer chipset like AM5 would really help boost your frame rates at this resolution.

I'm not that familiar with AM5; do you have any specific recommendations on motherboards or components?

You might be good to go! I’d suggest giving the game a shot before committing to any upgrades. You might surprise yourself with the performance you get!
