Hey folks! I'm thinking about upgrading my RAM and would love your insights before buying. Currently, I have an Intel Core i5-9400F with 16GB of DDR4-2666 RAM. I'm using a Gigabyte H310M DS2 2.0 motherboard and my GPU is a Radeon RX 570. My main activities are gaming at 1080p, multitasking, and some light development work. I'm considering moving to 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-2666 and looking at options like Corsair Vengeance LPX or Kingston Fury Beast. I'm curious about a few things: 1. Will I notice a real-world performance increase by upgrading to 32GB? 2. Is DDR4-2666 the right choice for my setup? 3. Any specific brands or models you recommend or suggest avoiding? Thanks for your help!

Honestly, you might get better performance boosts by upgrading your graphics card instead of just adding more RAM. I've seen RTX 2070s going for under $200 now, and that could make a bigger difference in gaming than going from 16GB to 32GB of RAM.

Thanks! What about the RAM upgrade to 32GB? Any thoughts?

If you're not already maxing out your 16GB, adding more RAM won't really help. It’s best to monitor your usage first. If you see you're hitting that limit during gaming or multitasking, then consider upgrading. Otherwise, keep your cash for a GPU upgrade!

I'm definitely looking to upgrade to 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-2666. What's your take on that?
