Should I Upgrade My RAM Without XMP Support for Better Performance?

I'm new to PC gaming, so forgive me if this comes off as a basic question. I just built a rig with a powerful 5080 GPU and a 9800X3D CPU, but it's got some ADATA AD5U560016G-DT RAM on a B650 Eagle AX motherboard. The problem is, my RAM doesn't seem to support XMP/EXPO on this board. I've checked the BIOS (it's up to date) and found no XMP profiles, leading me to believe it's unsupported. The RAM is rated at 5600MT/s, which should be decent for most tasks, but I'm worried I might be missing out on performance by not upgrading to RAM that supports XMP/EXPO. Is it worth investing in faster RAM for a noticeable real-world performance boost?

It looks like you might have a mix-up with the RAM model. ADATA AD5S560016G is actually a SODIMM module meant for laptops, so double-check your part number. Your RAM rated at 5600MT/s is decent, even without XMP. But if it turns out to have higher CAS latency, upgrading could yield a 10 FPS improvement in some games. Check that your memory specs are accurate!

Yeah, it should definitely be ADATA AD5U560016G-DT. Also, if it’s CL36, you might want to consider upgrading, especially since you have a high-end setup.

Honestly, if your current RAM is running well at 5600MT/s, I'm not sure upgrading is worth it. As long as you’re not running at a lower speed than spec, I wouldn’t stress about it too much. But then again, I'm not an expert.

With the X3D CPU, the performance boost from faster RAM isn't as dramatic as it is with other processors. If you're considering an upgrade, aim for 6000CL30, but also know that your current RAM might be overclockable to 6000. Just be cautious with overclocking!

For a high-end system like yours, the optimal RAM would be something like 2x16GB at 6000MT/s with CL30 latency. Also, take a close look at your BIOS for EXPO settings again—those options can sometimes be hidden. If you provide an accurate model number, we can help further!

Thanks for the tip! It is ADATA AD5U560016G-DT, and I Double-checked the BIOS settings, but it looks like all I have are some standard options.
