Hey everyone! I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3600 paired with a Radeon 7900GRE and I have 16GB of RAM running at 3200MHz. I've been on the lookout for an upgrade since these parts seem expensive where I live. I'm considering a few options: the 5800X for about $180, the 5800XT for around $208, or the 5700X3D which is priced at approximately $254. There's also a second-hand 5800X3D bundled with 16GB of RAM for $305. I'm stumped trying to figure out if spending an extra $75 on the 5700X3D offers enough of a performance boost for gaming, or if I should invest that money into upgrading to 32GB of RAM instead. It feels like the prices for these processors on places like AliExpress are outrageous too. Or should I just save up for an AM5 build instead?

From what I've seen, I'd skip the 5800XT. The performance bump you get from just a 100MHz increase isn't worth the extra cash. The 5700X3D may not give you a full 41% performance boost compared to the 5800X, but if you're into games that benefit from a larger cache like Factorio or MMOs like WoW, it might be a good investment. Personally, I'd go for the 5700X3D now and plan to grab a 32GB RAM kit later. Just sell your old RAM to help cover the cost!
