Hey everyone! I'm a college student building my first PC mainly for video editing, productivity, and gaming (mostly esports like Fortnite and Rivals, but also some AAA titles like Elden Ring). I currently have a list of parts I'm working with, including an RTX 5070 FE that I grabbed at MSRP for about $595. However, I've got a chance to buy an RX 9070xt (Asrock Steel Legend) from a friend for $675 since he's keeping his 4090 Super. Considering it's only $80 more than what I paid for the 5070, do you think that upgrade is worth it? Thanks for any advice!

No contest here, I'd say the 9070xt is worth it. For the price difference, you're getting significant gains in performance and additional features which can be really beneficial for your workflow.
I’m a bit skeptical about the 9070xt. If you're mostly gaming on esports titles, you might not need the extra power. But if you think you'll dive into AAA games more often, the upgrade could be wise.
Definitely go for the 9070xt! For just an extra $80, the performance boost you'll get is really noticeable, especially in video editing and productivity tasks. Plus, the extra VRAM will come in handy for your various projects. It's a solid investment!
I totally agree! That extra power will really help in gaming too, especially if you're planning to play more demanding titles like Elden Ring.
Good point! I’m definitely leaning more towards gaming, so it might be a good idea to invest in the upgrade.
