Hey folks! I'm in a bit of a dilemma as sales are approaching, and I'm trying to decide between upgrading my current AM4 setup or switching to the newer AM5 platform. My main goals are to save some cash while still being able to enjoy games like BF6 and GTA6 at 1080p and 60fps on my 55" TV. Here are my options with estimated costs:

Option 1: Ryzen 7 5800X with RX 9060 XT, plus some extra cooling and a WiFi card for about €615.

Option 2: The same setup as above, but aiming for a Ryzen 7 5700x3D from China for around €700.

Option 3: Spend a bit more, around €825, to upgrade to AM5 with a 7500F, which also means I need new RAM.

Right now, I'm working with a Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 2060, and a Corsair RM650 W PSU. Any advice would be super helpful!

Honestly, have you thought about just getting a used PS5 or Series S/X instead? I know this isn't typically the topic here, but it'll let you play those games without the hassle of a PC upgrade and save some cash. Plus, consoles keep a lot of their value, and it might be a more straightforward option for gaming.

I say sell your AM4 stuff and go for AM5. The performance jump is worth it, and if you plan to upgrade components, it makes more sense. With the sale of your AM4 parts, you can get a decent AM5 setup like a B650 Motherboard and DDR5 RAM, and you'll get similar performance as you would from the 5700x or even better. Just check local prices; some of these upgrades can be quite affordable.

Thanks for the tip! I wasn't sure if the performance gain justified the costs, but it sounds promising.
